Frequently asked questions
General
No, I currently focus exclusively on drop-in pet sitting visits rather than overnight stays. This allows me to provide reliable, attentive care to multiple pet families while helping pets remain comfortable in their familiar home environment.
At this time, I do not have a designated backup pet sitter. Because I am the sole owner and operator of Pawthentic Sitting, all visits are personally provided by me.
To prepare for unexpected emergencies, clients are required to provide at least one emergency contact who can care for their pets if I become unable to complete scheduled services due to illness, injury, severe weather, or another unforeseen circumstance. This information helps ensure your pets will continue to receive care, even in the event of an emergency.
While emergencies are rare, having an emergency contact is an important part of my commitment to responsible pet care and contingency planning.
No. To ensure consistency, safety, and clear communication, I maintain a No Shared Visit Policy. During the service period, I ask that no one else provide pet care unless we have discussed and approved it in advance.
Having a single caregiver helps prevent missed feedings, medication errors, conflicting instructions, and confusion about your pet's care. If you anticipate needing assistance from a family member, neighbor, house sitter, or another pet care provider during your absence, please let me know before services begin so we can determine the best plan for your pet.
Whenever possible, I encourage the use of lockboxes, keypad locks, or smart locks. These options provide a secure and convenient way to access your home, eliminate the need for key exchanges, and make future bookings simple and seamless.
No. For the security of your home and pets, I do not maintain a key bank or store client keys long-term. If keys are needed, Clients are responsible for providing home access before services begin and arranging for key return at the conclusion of services.
Whenever possible, I encourage the use of lockboxes, keypad locks, or smart locks. These access methods are often more convenient, eliminate the need for key exchanges, and provide a secure, reliable way to access your home during future bookings.
Yes. I can administer many routine medications, including oral and topical medications, when provided with clear instructions. As a Pet First Aid and CPR trained pet sitter, I take medication administration seriously and strive to ensure your pet receives their medications safely and on schedule.
All medications and administration instructions must be disclosed before services begin. Some medications or procedures may require veterinary care and may fall outside the scope of pet sitting services.
Yes. Pawthentic Sitting is fully insured and bonded for your peace of mind through Business Insurers of the Carolinas.
Insurance helps protect against certain accidents or unexpected incidents that may occur while services are being provided, while bonding offers an additional layer of protection related to the care of your home and property.
I am committed to providing professional, reliable, and trustworthy pet care, and maintaining insurance and bonding is an important part of that commitment.
Proof of insurance and bonding can be provided upon request.
I will send an invoice about a week before services are scheduled via Zelle.
No. Pawthentic Sitting specializes exclusively in in-home pet sitting visits and does not offer boarding services.
I believe pets are often happiest and most comfortable in their own familiar environment. Remaining at home allows them to maintain their normal routine, sleep in familiar surroundings, and avoid many of the stresses that can come with traveling or staying in an unfamiliar location.
My goal is to provide personalized care in the place where your pet feels safest—home.
